First and foremost, Welcome back to the new school year. The PGO would like to share appreciation of all the families of Crocker Farm students. You've raised some great children and our school is a wonderful place because of them!
The PGO would also like to welcome Becky Demling (mom of Amanda (preschool), Timmy (2nd grade) & Jacob (4th grade)) as the new co-chair of the PGO. Thank you Becky!
We hope that you are as excited about this year ahead as we are. Principal Morris and Assist. Principal Smith have made it clear that they appreciate the work of the PGO and want to help us encourage family participation at Crocker Farm.
There are many ways to be involved at the school. From bake sales to the One World Festival, there are plenty of events and activities that rely entirely on your participation to make them happen. The PGO is also in need of a secretary for the year. If you're interested in knowing more about any of the volunteer opportunities available to you please consider contacting the PGO!

Community Conversations
Monday night's Community Conversation was a strong beginning to our new school year. Principal Mike Morris and Assistant Principal Joseph Smith, the SGC and PGO hosted about 35 parents for a series of small group conversations about different subjects (Family Engagement, Homework, Communication, Crocker Farm Strengths, and Classroom Matters). All in all, it was a very forward thinking evening. Concerns were raised and many ideas were shared that will help make Crocker Farm an even better place for students and families.
If you missed this meeting, the notes will be available soon. Mr. Morris is also planning to hold additional meetings in the future as well as a Coffee With A Principal series (more on this soon).

Playground Cleanup
Many thanks to the few people who took time out of their busy weekend to help spruce up the playgrounds before school starts! The turnout was small, but the result was big and the grounds look clean and ready for the return of the kids.
Thank you to Yaniris Fernandez, Bobbie Jemsek, Lisa Kosanovic (and her 2 boys), Jen Chylak and her son, Maggie Firinne, Becky Demling with 2 of her children, plus 2 new 5th graders from the neighborhood.

Playground Helpers Wanted
Crocker Farm Playground Cleanup!!
Saturday August 23rd from 8:00am - 1:00pm
Can you come for an hour or two to help spruce up the playgrounds before the students return? We're looking for 25+ volunteers to pick up trash, weed, rake mulch, etc. Bring your gardening tools, brooms, rakes, gloves. PGO will provide drinks. Questions? Call Erika at 256-1045 or email studiozed@comcast.net. (Rain date is Sunday August 24th.)
