Camino De Santiago Sampler Tour Offers
Spanish Study and Pilgrimage
Walk the last section of the Camino
de Santiago and study Spanish as part of a small group Camino de Santiago Sampler Tour, June 26 – July 3, 2013. Participants will return with increased
Spanish proficiency and motivating curriculum ideas after 8 days/7 nights of
experiencing the Camino and all this living museum of Romanesque architecture
and medieval history has to offer.
Leading the group through the green
Galician countryside, Alessandra Mucci-Ramos and Judith Northup-Bennett are co-teachers
of a multi-level adult education Spanish course in Amherst, MA based on the
Camino. The tour focuses on the last 100
km. of the ancient pilgrimage route so that people have the opportunity to earn
the Pilgrim certificate, the Compostelana.
“This is a sampler tour to give
people the opportunity to experience the culture and life of the Camino without
committing to the month-long trek from the mountains to Santiago, “said
Northup-Bennett. “The van supported
hiking and the 3-day stays in one location let people set their own personal
goals for the journey whether hiking, studying Spanish, learning about history
or experiencing Spanish life today.”
