Crocker Press Wins the Golden Apple

The APEA (teacher's union) has awarded the parent-run Crocker Press with the "Friend of Education" award this year. Thanks to everyone who help fund the program by attending PGO events etc. and to those able to help publish the kids books each year (especially the coordinator of the program, Clare Bertrand). It really makes a difference to be involved in our kids education and the teachers/staff appreciate it. And congratulations to all of the Crocker Farm writers!

The Tag Sale was Fantastic!!

A giant 'thank you' to all of the generous folks who brought in donations. The tag sale raised nearly $1200 for the PGO, and that money will go directly to support the teachers and students of Crocker Farm.

Special thanks also go to following folks, who made the tag sale run VERY smoothly:
  • The Girl Scouts (along with Doreen Beard, Stacy Tobin and Karen Mack) who helped to unload donated items on Friday afternoon/evening (and spiffed up the tag sale sign with lots of happy colors);
  • Kathy Roberts, who stored items at Muddy Brook Farm and hauled them over to the school Saturday morning in one of her horse trailers;
  • Terry Stedman, head custodian at Crocker Farm, who arrived bright and early (and stayed late) to help us set up for the sale and clean up afterwards;
  • Jenn Chylack, who provided healthy and delicious foods/drinks for tag sale shoppers (and soccer families!);
  • All of the folks who baked goodies for the tag sale; and
  • The 'dream team' of Katie Zobel, Clare Bertrand, Karen Mack, Erika Zekos, Jeanne & Rick Tuthill; Denise O'Donovan, Rebecca Gajda, Sue Mattina, Dave Warren, and Doreen & Gary Beard who sorted, organized, sold, boxed, cleaned up, and transported tag sale items.
Finally, thanks to all of the Crocker Farm families and staff members who came out shop on Saturday. It was wonderful to see everyone! editor's note: Suzanne Warren thanked everyone but herself! This couldn't have happened without her great organization and energy!
