A special event for adults in MARCH

Wine Tasting Benefit for Ice Stars for Wounded Warriors
At the Amherst Farm Winery on Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 6 pm to 9 pm
Come join us at the Amherst Farm Winery for a Wine Tasting Event! Light snacks and wine tasting available for $15 a ticket. All proceeds ($10 from each ticket sale and 5% of all purchases) will be donated to Ice Stars for Wounded Warriors (April 28, 2012).   Email Vivian Liu at vivianfliu@comcast.net or Catherine Lodge at cathy51168@yahoo.com for tickets.
The Amherst Farm Winery is located at 529 Belchertown Road, Amherst, MA.
We are raising money to help cover costs for the Ice Stars for Wounded Warriors event, to be held on April 28, 2012, at the Mullins Center practice arena on the UMASS campus. The event consists of a series of hockey games (with 8 military, police and firefighter teams), a procession at 3:00 PM to honor our military men and women, followed by an Ice Show with Olympic, World, and International figure skaters that includes a rose dedication to our serving, fallen, and wounded military.   Last year, Ice Stars raised $4000 for the Wounded Warrior Project after paying off bills, and this year we hope to do much better!  We will let you know when tickets to this year's Ice Stars for Wounded Warriors become available through the UMASS ticketing agency.
For additional information, please visit our website Icestarsforwoundedwarriors.weebly.com or our facebook page, Ice Stars for Wounded Warriors-non profit.  If you are interested in donating items for the silent auction or providing financial sponsorship in return for publicity, please do not hesitate to contact Vivian Liu at vivianfliu@comcast.net, Catherine Lodge at cathy51168@yahoo.com or the Founder/Presidentof this non-profit organization, Kerry Togneri at icestarsforwoundedwarriors@gmail.com.

Regional meeting - of interest to parents/guardians

On February 29 at 7 p.m. the Regional School District Planning Committee ( RSDPC) will hold a public forum in the Town Room at Town Hall. The committee was formed to consider whether Amherst should join with one or more towns in a regional K-6 district. The forum’s purpose is to gather community thoughts and questions regarding a possible change to the governance structure of our schools.
The information gathered at the forum will be used to identify community concerns and questions. This will assure that the RSDPC considers matters important to Amherst. In the Fall, the committee will hold a second forum to present its findings.
For those unable to attend the forum on the 29, the committee has a website with additional information and email address where community members can send questions and concerns.
The website is: amherstma.gov/rsdpc

Parent/Guardian Cafe

Hello! The Amherst schools would like to let all parents and guardians know about two upcoming events, both held in the Middle School on February 13th at 7:00 pm. The first is a parent and guardian café which will be focused on an informal exploration of the past of our district. We will have a special guest who will take us on a memory lane journey and answer questions. The second one is our usual Monday evening free ESL class for parents and guardians. We provide snacks and childcare for both events. Translation in Spanish will be provided; other language translations will be provided upon request. Please join us!

¡Hola!
¡Esperamos verlos!
