Sing, sing a song...

Two summer programs are available for elementary-aged school children right here in Amherst!

The first is called SING! Jr. and is for 7-11 year old children who love to sing. There is also an older program for 12-18 year old girls. SING! And SING! Jr. will take place from July 11-15 at Amherst College. You can visit our website at www.singthissummer.com. Here is a bit more about the program:

SING! and SING! Jr. are happy to offer a a fun musical, social and recreational experience while maintaining a focus on healthy vocal production and expanding musical skills. We give students the opportunity to explore the full range of their vocal ability through classes that highlight a variety of vocal styles and genres, such as choir, musical theater, voice lessons and a cappella. We also offer recreational activities such as movement class and opportunities for indoor and outdoor games and swimming. You can email us at singthissummer@gmail.com.

The second is Strings@Smith, which is for 8-18 year olds who play stringed instruments. That will take place from July 17-22 at Smith College. This is an exciting week of music and fun for young string players who can participate in classes such as orchestra, technique, chamber ensembles, fiddling, drumming and dance and more. We also offer recreational activities such as games, trips to downtown (accompanied by a counselor) and swimming. For more information you can visit our website at www.smith.edu/music/stringsatsmith or email us at strings@smith.edu.

Thank you Crocker Farm!

As we get ready to end our multi-year term as Co-Chairs of the PGO, we would like to thank the volunteers and staff who have supported our initiatives and organized events that support the mission of the PGO.   Between redistricting and the playground, the last few years have been busy ones and we are proud to have been part of them.  We have enjoyed meeting so many new families and contributing to the amazing community at Crocker Farm.
We wish to acknowledge Susan Bernier who will stay on as Treasurer  for a third year as well as our past chairs, Erika Zekos and Clare Bertrand, who mentored us over the last three years.

It is only through new volunteers that the PGO and its many programs are sustainable.  We are still looking for new board members for the upcoming year. Please consider suggesting yourself or another Crocker Farm parent/guardian you think would be a good volunteer for a leadership position.

Have a wonderful, safe and restful summer.  See you in September!
