Pride Parade - Sat, May 4th - ARPS contingent

The Northampton Pride Parade is next Saturday, May 4th. This year, the ARPS contingent in the parade will be bigger than ever. All are welcome to march to show support for the district's LGBT teachers, staff, students, and families. All parade contingents meet in the parking lot across from the Northampton Brewery, by 11:30. The parade starts at 12:00. On the side of the parking lot farthest from the Brewery there is a grassy hill with some trees on it. Our contingent will be as close to that as possible so we have some shade and grass while we wait. We will have some sort of banner to identify ourselves. The parade will march through town and end at a rally at the Tri County Fairgrounds, where people are welcome to stay and enjoy the speakers, performers and vendors or just head back into town. Last year many of us set up blankets and listened to music while the kids ran around. There is no cost to attend the parade or the rally but food and drinks are not free.

If you would like to join us, please feel free to make or buy signs, rainbow flags, balloons etc. or just come as you are. This is a celebratory day and one that means a great deal to the LGBT community. We'd love to see you there! Please feel free to contact the coordinator of the ARPS Pride contingent Ali Wicks-Lim, a Fort River parent, at wickslim@yahoo.com with any questions.
