Celebrate Earth Day’s 40th Anniversary with a Trash-Free Lunch!
Amherst’s Third Annual Trash Free Lunch Day will be held at all four elementary schools next Friday, April 16. Last year, two Amherst elementary schools produced less than one cubic inch of trash per student!
In honor of Earth Day, we are again challenged to pack--and eat-- lunches that are completely trash-free. The cafeteria will serve plastic and utensil-free meals, and students are asked to bring trash-free lunches from home (via use of reusable drink and food containers instead of disposable ones).
