New Challenge Grant!

Crocker Farm Families: We have raised $2,400 so far during our October fund drive! Our original goal was to raise $2,000. Another family has agreed to extend our challenge grant. We have a few more days left to raise some extra money—let’s see if we can get to $3000!

SEPAC Sign Campaign @ Crocker Farm

The Amherst SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council) has put together a traveling Sign Campaign to raise awareness about disabilities, featuring people students may recognize. The signs will be on our front lawn until Wednesday, Oct. 26. The Sign Campaign has been at the High School, Middle School, and Fort River already. It has created a great opportunity to open a dialogue about differences. Please help our students notice and take care of the signs for these three days.

Octubre a mediados de mes Fundrive Carta

Estimadas familias de Crocker Farm,

Octubre ha sido un mes atareado entre la noche de Open House y las reuniones entre padres y profesores. Tendremos un encuentro PGO el Martes 1ro de Noviembre a las 19:30 en la biblioteca Munson. ¡Esperamos verlos a todos!  También por favor complete su información en directory forms si no lo ha hecho aún. Copias en papel han sido enviadas nuevamente esta semana a las familias de las cuales no tenemos su información.

Petición fondos de Octubre

Hasta ahora hemos recolectado alrededor de $1,440 (¡incluídos los $220 en recaudaciones la noche del Open House!). Recuerde que durante Octubre podemos doblar lo recaudado hasta alcanzar los $2,000. ¡Estamos muy cerca de alcanzar la meta!

Hemos sido capaces de comprar algunos de los artículos requeridos por los profesores y administrativos, incluyendo:

• Pelotas de ejercicios para una sala de clase de segundo año
• 25 pedómetros para ser usados en educación física en la escuela
• Una mapa mundial grande enmarcado para la escuela
• Un equipo electrónico para un curso de cuarto año

Tenemos varios artículos pendientes en Amazon. Usted también puede donar directamente al PGO online o enviando un cheque a la escuela. Todas las donaciones son deducibles de los impuestos. Por favor considere donar durante este mes de Octubre, ninguna donación es muy pequeña.

Oportunidades de voluntariado

La venta de pasteles del día de elecciones, 8 de Noviembre. ¡La pasada primavera, la venta de pasteles del día de elecciones primarias fue una de nuestras mejores recaudaciones de fondos! Para la elección nacional, habrán muchos más votantes y tendremos ventas de pasteles en dos lugares: la escuela Crocker Farm y la biblioteca Munson. Por favor inscríbase aquí (here) para ser voluntario. Esta es una gran actividad para toda la familia. Nos encantaría que algunos estudiantes de Crocker Farm ayuden activamente en las mesas.

Feria de libros Barnes & Noble, 12 de Noviembre. Habrán lecturas de libros con el autor Cammie McGovern, y con el equipo de autores Corrine Demas y Artemis Roehrig; representaciones de Miss Leticia y sus estudiantes; y una representación del Ballet de Amherst. Colecta de ropa y abrigos de invierno, colecta 7-29 de Noviembre, distribución del 30 de Noviembre al 1 de Diciembre. Después de un hermoso y temperado otoño, se aproxima el invierno. Cuando esté sacando su ropa de invierno, por favor considere donar abrigos, pantalones de nieve, botas y guantes que su familia no vaya a usar. Los depósitos de ropa estarán en el lobby. PGO's Mid-Month Fund Drive Appeal

Dear Crocker Farm Families,

October has been a busy month between Open House night and parent-teacher conferences. There will be a PGO meeting at 7:30 on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Munson Library. We hope to see you there!  Also, please fill out your directory forms if you haven’t yet.  Hard copies were sent home again this week to families for whom we are still missing directory forms.

October Fund Solicitation

So far we have raised just over $1,440 (including $220 in donations at the Open House night!). Remember, we have $2,000 in matching funds for money donated in October. We are close to reaching that goal!

We have been able to purchase some items on the teacher and staff wish lists, including:

• Balance balls for a second-grade classroom
• 25 Pedometers for the school to use in gym class
• A large framed world map for the school
• An electronics kit for a fourth-grade classroom

There are still many items on the school wish list on Amazon. You can also donate directly to the PGO online or by sending a check to the school. All donations are tax deductible. Please consider donating during this October fund drive—no donation is too small.  

Volunteer Opportunities

Election Day Bake Sale, Nov. 8. Last spring, the Primary election day bake sale was one of our top-grossing fundraisers! For the national election, there will be more voters and we will have bake sales at two locations: Crocker Farm School and the Munson Library. Please sign up here to volunteer. This is a great activity for the whole family. We would love to have some Crocker kids help staff the tables.

Barnes & Noble Book Fair, Nov. 12. There will be book readings with author Cammie McGovern and with author team Corrine Demas and Artemis Roehrig; performances by Miss Leticia and her students; and a performance by Amherst Ballet. We are seeking volunteers to help on Book Fair day. Please contact Tracy Zafian (tmz23@zafian.com) to sign up.

Winter Coat & Clothing Share, Collection: Nov 7 - 29; Distribution: Nov 30 & Dec 1. After a wonderful and warm Fall, Winter is approaching. As you look through your family’s winter clothes, please consider donating warm coats, snow pants, boots, and mittens your family no longer needs. Collection bins will be in the lobby.
